Inspired by our lovely friends at St Giles School, we wanted to create a ‘Weekly Challenge’ that all of our students can access and join in with!

Please encourage your child to join in with the challenge (and the whole family…more the merrier!) each week and send your videos or photos of the challenge being completed to admin@standrews.derby.sch.uk or our Facebook page by Friday of the following week.

This challenge will end Friday 15th May at midday!

This week’s challenge is……. “Share a Smile” 

Your task is to make someone smile who isn’t part of your household (whilst maintaining social distancing of course!). This could be via phone/video call, sending them a letter or a socially distanced chat with one of your neighbours! We look forward to see what you all get up to this week and hope you can spread a smile and some hope during these times!

Samuel Shares a Smile! laugh

We have had our first entry to this week's challenge to 'Share a Smile!'. Samuel has been making their family friend, Steve, laugh when he came to drop them some food off and he has been laughing at their family cat Mog in the garden which certainly brought a smile to his Mum's face....and ours!

Some of our brilliant staff members (Matt and Jo) have been making us all laugh by sharing a joke on Facebook (you can laugh along on our Facebook Page) so maybe you could follow in their funny footsteps and join in with a joke of your own! 

Chloe makes us smile! laugh

Chloe has been sharing her smiles with us this week and all the things that have made her smile, including:

  • Cuddles with Mum
  • Licking the bowl after baking!
  • Using her cuddle cushion when Face Timing with her Dad and Mick
  • Wearing her lovely makeup
  • Showing off her work she is proud of!
